Battlefield 3 from E3 2011

Today was an awesome day for fans of the Battlefield series. tons of news and gameplay exploded out of the gate and it’s all here. The EA press conference is where we saw the majority of the videos and news. and of course EA saved the best for last. They showed us a ton of video and the key factor from this was the release date. Which we now know to be October 25th 2011. They discussed a lot about Battlefield 3’s Frostbite 2 engine which gives the game it’s stunning visuals. Just check out this video.

Right after that video, they played one mission from Battlefield 3 called “Thunder Run” which involves a crazy convoy of tanks that run in to enemy tanks and an enemy base. Check that video out.

And if that wasn’t enough for you, they showed some MULTIPLAYER! they announced that the multiplayer will be available for everyone to play at the E3 booth and on the E3 show floor. they will also be able to get a customized dog tag for them. How nice, but for all of us at home we dont get jack squat so lets continue. We start the multiplayer with a trailer called Operation Metro

After the multiplayer trailer was shown they announced that the Battlefield 3 Multiplayer Beta will be going live this September. It is unclear if owners of the limited edition of Medal of Honor will get even earlier access, or if September is the date for the MOH:LE owners.

Make sure to check back here for more Battlefield 3 news for the rest of E3.
