The release of Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, a remade game based on the flash game Isaac and dlc Wrath of the Lamb, has been officially announced for early next year. The game will be released on the PS4, Playstation Vita, and on Steam.
Designer Edmund McMillen and developer Nicalis are working to make Rebirth a “totally retooled and greatly expanded version” of the original game, that will feature a new graphics overhaul rendered out in a semi 16-bit SNES style. Don’t worry, though, they’re also making sure that everyone that loved the original will be happy with this remake.
Here, before I go on, I got you this teaser:
As if that video is not exciting enough, the game is completely remade from scratch on a non-flash engine and has expanded gameplay, playable characters, story, enemies, bosses, and tons of new items (over 110 of them, by the way). There is actually 50% new content over the original game. Other nifty features include:
- Local co-op play
- Competitive load outs
- Steam loyalty discounts for players who already own the game
- 2+ playable characters
- New challenge runs
- More stuff! But that hasn’t really been released yet, so just wait in anticipation…
