A few weeks ago potential buyers for the PlayStation 3 version of Battlefield 3 were promised that their copy of the game would include a copy of Battlefield 1943 which would either be on the disc or a code to download on the PlayStation Network.
But when the PS3 owners recieved their copies of BF3 they were surprised to find that Battlefield 1943 was missing. Everyone on the “Interwebs” was saying that Dice/EA decided to replace the free copy of Battlefield 1943 in exchange for early access to the map-pack deal exclusively for the PlayStation 3. Ea’s PR manager, Snez Stojanovska said via a tweet.
There seems to be some confusion around the Battlefield 1943offer and we’d like to clarify. We had originally planned to includeBattlefield 1943 on the disk but decided to replace that offer with new content that PlayStation fans can enjoy.
He also added,
Thanks to an exclusive Sony partnership, PS3 players will have one-week early access to Battlefield 3 Expansion Packs, starting with the post-launch Back to Karkand digital expansion pack.
So there ya go. PlayStation 3 owners are not getting Battlefield 1943 unless they decide to spend the money to get it. Which they totally should because it’s awesome.
