Thanks in part to EA for accidentally blogging about it early and some digging by Battlefield Daily, the newest title in EA’s Battlefield series is called Battlefield: Hardline, an apparent police-themed game coming from not DICE, but Visceral Games, the developers behind the excellent Dead Space series. Hardline will be the first Battlefield title not handled by DICE.
Battlefield: Hardline is once again coming to Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC. It will also support Battlefield Premium. Other leaked information includes four classes (Enforcer, Mechanic, Operator, and Professional) as well as a multiplayer map called “Downtown.” Three modes leaked called “Blood Money,” “Bomb Squad,” and “Carrier Assault.” A beta is also mentioned. Based on the mode names and a class such as the “Professional,” it sounds like we’re getting a cops and robbers kind of game with police being the main campaign and interesting modes for multiplayer. Has EA been reading my advice to make Call of Duty better? Because it sure sounds like what I came up with! First Ubisoft and now EA. Guys, I’ll take my royalties any time, please!
With E3 on the horizon, I’m sure we’ll be hearing and seeing a lot more in about two weeks. Below is also some leaked badges from the game. Now pay the man!
