Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire 3DS Remakes Announced

Today Nintendo announced that full fledged remakes of the classic Ruby and Sapphire will be hitting the 3DS and 2DS this November. Named Pokemon Omega Ruby and Sapphire, Nintendo promises fresh takes on the 2003 titles.

The games took place in the Hoenn region which was a big deal back then before there were 40,000 different Pokemon. These covers feature a new look to the classic monsters Groudon and Kyogre, meaning we’ll probably be seeing mega evolutions. Check out the announcement below!


Bellevue, Wash.—May 7, 2014—The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo announced today that Pokémon Omega Ruby andPokémon Alpha Sapphire will launch worldwide in November 2014, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Pokémon fans will collect, battle, and trade Pokémon in a new adventure.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are a fresh take onPokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire, which launched in 2003 and were fan-favorite hits on the Game Boy Advance system. The new titles promise to take players through a dramatic story within a spectacular new world.
