Quarter Three: How Screwed is your Wallet?

I know, it’s hard to believe, but it’s that time again! Quarter 3 of 2013 is here and that can only mean one thing to the gaming community… It’s game time! The time of year where all the great(and some not so great) AAA titles are released to the world. Though it’s an exciting time for gamers waiting to get their hands on the newest and hottest games, it’s also a tragic time of year for those of us who buy EVERY single noteworthy game. And this year will no doubt be exceptionally noteworthy as both Sony and Microsoft are releasing the PS4 and the Xbox One respectively. So what does this mean? In short, if you’re the type who plans on buying all of these games and systems at launch, you must be one rich SOB.

Every year we bring you this list, marking the start of quarter 3 and leading all the way through until the beginning of next year, to show you an interesting perspective on just how broke most gamers will be by the end of quarter 4 of 2013. So let’s get to it! Keep in mind that release dates and price may vary depending on the system/platform they’re released for…

And let’s not forget the release of the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One. The PS4 will be released on November 15th for $400 and the Xbox One will be out the very next week on November 22nd and will cost $500. So, let’s recap this… IF you’re the kind of gamer who wants to get everything on this list, consoles included, they will set you back(roughly) a whopping $2,035. So, there you have it! To put this into perspective, if you were to buy everything on this list, you’d be spending just about 2 times as much money as you would have last year. Now that’s a little frightening. Hide yo wallets, folks… It’s going to be one hell of a ride!
