After a long teaser campaign and a previous window of “Spring 2013,” it looks like that has been delayed just a bit to put it into the always fun Fall lineup. Grand Theft Auto V launches worldwide for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17th, 2013.
With Grand Theft Auto V pushing the boundaries of gaming yet again, it’s no surprise. When Rockstar says they need a delay, you welcome it, because you know the end result will be that much more satisfying. With a game that weaves three main characters together set in a game map that is as big as Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas COMBINED, this game is going to be massive in every way. Here’s an official word from Rockstar:
We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require.
To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience.
