Sony Files New PS3 Model With FCC

When a new electronic device is created there are a few very important steps that need to be taken in order to have it be sold in the United States. One of which is making sure the device is “okayed” by the FCC, ever wonder why you see the FCC logo and a little number on all your electronics?, well that is why.

Earlier today, some guys over at the NeoGaf forums have found a new filing from Sony on the FCC website. This new Sony device is a brand new PlayStation 3 model. The current model of PlayStation 3 slim’s is the CECH-3000 series while the one that was just filed with the FCC is the CECH-4000.

We get a look at the footprint of the new console and it seems that this new PS3 will be even smaller, some say a “Super Slim” PS3.

This is pretty awesome news because this could lead to a price drop to push the new model, and what better time than this holiday season? No I’m not saying the new PS3 will be here this holiday season but i’m saying it would be a great time to do it.

    God dammit sony. We don’t we rehashings of the same system. We want a whole new system. Stop making my life more difficult. Now I’ll have to sell this piece of trash to people during the holiday season then explain to them a year later when the come back to trade it in for the PS4, that they should have just waited
