Remember that game Rome Total War? You know, considered to be one of the greatest games of all time? The one with the HUGE modding community TO THIS DAY eight years after release? Well, you’ll be happy to know that the sequel will finally be announced next week. (YES. YES. YES.) Creative Assembly, makers of the Total War series, announced that next week in the UK they’ll be looking back on their studio’s history in a special presentation which will include a look at the “future of the Total War franchise.” So you’re probably thinking to yourself, “So what? Could be anything.” Yeah? Well take a look at the back cover of Australian Magazine’s PC Powerplay’s next issue (where they show off the following month’s cover story).

Oh, you know. Just a giant image of the original Rome Total War with the iconic lettering of “II” over it. This deserves every hell yeah. I’ve been waiting for this announcement forever. Shogun 2 was phenomenal and I cannot wait to go back to the battlefields of the Roman Empire with modern graphics, I’m guessing an absurdly larger unit size, and lord knows what else. I’d say expect an official announcement much sooner now that this has leaked.
